Thanks to a recent donation and donations for more than a decade, one school in Lake County can purchase specialized equipment to better serve its students.

The Col. Phillip C. Delong Detachment 1267 Marine Corps League in The Villages recently presented a $10,000 check to Lake Hills School in Howey-In-The-Hills, a school for students with significant cognitive challenges.

“This is one of the charitable programs the Col. Phillip C. Delong Detachment has supported and contributed to for the past 17 years to help improve the quality of life for these intellectually challenged students,” said Nathan Pratt, with Marine Corps League.
