The Marine Corps Classic Golf Tournament has been an
instrumental source of funding for local Toys for Tots Campaigns. Since 1996,
Marine Corps Leagues across the country were added to help run local
campaigns and to fund them – oftentimes through a yearly golf tournament.
The Phillip C. Delong Detachment 1267 has proudly served the children of Lake
and Sumter Counties since 2007.
The Toys for Tots outreach has grown larger than had been imagined during its
inception in 1947. As of 2023, there are 830 campaigns across the United States,
Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands!
In 2023, our local campaign distributed 57,463 toys to 16,234 children! It was
through the generosity of our Marine Corps League members, the auxiliary, and
all of our neighbors within and outside of The Villages, Florida that we were able
to help so many children in need of Christmas.
We are all inundated with requests for our money AND for our time. Please know
that Toys for Tots Marine Toys for Tots meets all 20 standards established by the
Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance and is thus designated as an
Accredited Charity.
It’s also important to know that the Marine Toys for Tots Program has a support
ration of 97:3, which means that 97% of all donations are spent on the program
with only 3% spent on overhead. Also worth noting is that not one donated dollar
goes to pay anyone’s salary! Every one of us who work in local campaigns are
volunteers.

MISSION:
The basic mission of the Marine Corps League Golf Classic is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas.
GOAL:
The primary goal of Marine Corps League Golf Classic is, through the gift of a new toy, help bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America's less fortunate children.

driving cage open
7:00AM - Putting contest Begins
7:50 AM- Putting contest ends
8:00 AM – Return to carts for Opening Ceremony and Course rules review
8:30 AM – SHOTGUN START

➢ Includes Golf Awards for Three Flights (1st and 2nd Place)
